Big Creek is a nice hike right off of Interstate 40.Exit at Waterville, go right across bridge, follow along the creek, go through town, and follow gravel road just a short distance to trail head. This goes right by the "set in" point for the huge numbers of rafters from Hartford Rd. Folks used to come down from the AT to pick up mail and eat at Mountain Mommas, but it has since been closed and turned into a private resident.
