Dear North Carolina Wine Map,
We need to talk. I don't get you man. I just don't. Why would you do this to me? I was just growing to trust you and your accurate and beautifully labeled geographical information. I was really enjoying our trips on weekends, out exploring the beautiful countryside of our state and sampling delicious wines. I thought things were going great, until Saturday afternoon.
You know what I'm talking about. I know you remember. It was number 33.

After turning off of the interstate and traveling what seemed like hours into the deep and somewhat frightening woods surrounded by junkyards and unpainted shacks, imagining all the while the delicious reward that awaited me at the end of our drive, I was stunned-nay-horrified to see what lay before me. I don't know exactly what criteria are required for inclusion on this map, but I would have thought that perhaps a passable road might have been a good start. The mud on the non-paved, non-graveled "road" was almost axle deep. The directions printed on the map were impossible to follow, perhaps because of the copious amounts of mud obscuring the road or perhaps the twenty pair of cow eyes staring at me from 10 feet away proved way too distracting. I'm not laying all the blame on you, dear wine map, but suffice it to say, I consider there to be only 89 wineries on this map now. There was no sweet reward of wine at the end of this trip 'up the holler' only frustration, cursing and regret for the 2+ hours wasted driving there and back. So. You see, I fear I can no longer trust you to keep me safe and on the right path. What do you have to say for yourself?
Are you RED or WHITE
